:bulletblue:Id had a lot of troubles with this piece!I was so undecided about many details and effects!>.<
after making the Bg and adding the snow i thought on passing on some dark filters jut to give that ink idea, but at the same time this process just took off the realism/soft style of the Character!
So I just cut it off and left it how it was!XD(well of course i made filters...a looooot)
But anyway...-.-'
:bulletblue:WOW a big difference isnt it!?Tablets makes miracles!I just used the same technique of 2 years ago using soft brushes only the precision changed! And this appears like a biiig difference!XD
:star:so do you like it?:star:
Its just a winter picture!! right for this season!:icondummylaplz:

This is a very impressive piece of work, everything is just really well laid out, the detail is there, the colours, the reflections or rather translucency of the blade are a nice touch. I like the air of realism in this deferring from the typical manga style which could have made this more cliche. The detail on the lips and the eyes makes it something special. The background is also nicely done and well fitting. This is really marvelous work and I congratulate you on making such an eye candy.

The hair is very well done and is one of the very subtle hints towards your manga influence. From the posture visible the neck may be a tad bit too thin and also her left had is a bit out of proportion, the position of the shoulder and the actual hand which is towards the end of the hilt implies that the upper arm is too short and the position of the elbow should not appear in the picture at all. I also get a bit confused about the position of the other hand but this is mostly due to the posture which in some way is quite complex. With this posture however, you can almost get away the those subtle mistakes, and they are difficult to notice too. Suggestions for similar works would be to try and look at the image of your basic drawing through a mirror (whether off the computer screen or the original pencil drawing if you do such. This should be done when all the line drawing is is practically complete and you are ready to start colouring and rendering as it will save you a great deal and most of the time you'll only start noticing the mistakes when you are midway colouring in.

The cloth (which implicates part of the girl's right hand directly underneath the dragon-head end of the sword's hilt is unnecessary and only causes further confusion with the consistency of the hands' form. After studying her posture, my personal insight would be that her right shoulder would be exactly where the right hand fingers are outlining (The fingers of the hand nearest to the neck). I would imagine that if that right hand had not been there the shoulder's outline would be in the exact place, meaning her upper-arm would be angled along that diagonal outline formed by her right hand fingers. Therefore that cloth implicating the position of the the right elbow is false and in fact should not be there at all, that is my opinion.

Otherwise these are merely teeny nitpicks that could enhance the nature of that posture. Otherwise I really like this picture.

I myself am a fellow hobbyist who has great interest in traditional art, manga and have the curiosity to get into digital art especially for the development of my personal comic project. As I see you may be a manga fan, I humbly request you check out my profile. Most of my work consists of sketches therefore isn't as colourful, however, I have some good ideas (I think) and would appreciate your input on my work as well as any tips and hints for moving into digital art. Of course I plan to initially do the project in pencil sketches and then afterwards add some digital rendering and colour to enhance it.
